Social Work

Our Lab provides health services of high quality, ranging from primary care to specialized tertiary care facilities. The mobile ophthalmological unit of VEIC periodically visits remote areas of Crete and the Aegean islands and offers free of charge complete ophthalmological examination to all residents.

This social contribution of our Lab has received warm response from the local society, since in many cases eye diseases have been early diagnosed and treated and also serious comlications have been prevented.

Apart from the social work, the mobile unit is a very useful tool for conducting epidemiological trials.
